You see that big image that you can hover over to see each person's stats? Those are our awesome avatars! They are a bit complicated to use if you don't know what you're doing though, so I have decided to make a simple guide for how to use our insanely epic avatars. (You don't have to have a big one, but they're pretty cool. c;)
- If you are going to make your own avatar, please make sure you are graphically capable of doing so. If you cannot make an avatar that is visually pleasing to the eye, please ask someone else to make you one. This may seem picky or shallow of me, but honestly, who wants to look at a blotchy/glittery/pixel mess of an avatar? I doubt any of you could raise your hand and say yes I would much rather look at a crappy avatar than a visually pleasing one. This is not to offend anyone, just to keep the forum pretty and enjoyable to look at.
- Take a look at the other avatars to make sure you don't make one with the same image as someone else, this would just cause confusion. If you happen to make a double, someone will gently remind you, but don't get upset at them because obviously you didn't take the time to skim through and check first! (;
- Your avatar should simply be any kind of picture you like that completely fits within a 230x400 image canvas. If you would like, you can include your name/nickname/whatever you like to be called. Also optionally, you can include lyrics or other words, but try to make them less noticeable than your name/what you go by. This helps keep the confusion down as well so people can immediately identify you instead of skimming through words to find your name.
- When you're ready to pin up your avatar, you will have to go to your profile --> edit profile --> upload/link --> type in the DIRECT link to your avatar. Don't know how to get the direct link? Use tinypic.com or any other photo hosting website, upload your image (default size), and then copy and paste the direct link into the little link bar in your edit profile screen.
- Alternatively, check out some premade avatars here or request one here. The same process as above is required for adding your avatar! Be sure to comment if you've decided to use one of the premade avatars and it will be taken down so it can't be used again.
No avatar images are claimed by the users here unless otherwise stated. Each image is recognized as the work of someone else, but because of the free floating images all over the internet, it is almost impossible to find credit for each and every image. If any of the images belong to you or someone you know and credit is needed, feel free to let me (Jessi/Arbor) know (with proper proof of ownership) and I will immediately and gladly credit the appropriate owner. As a general disclaimer, most images are from Tumblr.com and others may come from Google Images. Feel free to use free floating images as members of this forum; this disclaimer goes for all images edited by all members of this forum, and not just staff members.
