These guidelines are specifically for those who are unaware of a thing called "post etiquette". Post etiquette is important to the forum so that no one is highly offended or annoyed.
- Messed up on a post? Found a typo? Please refrain from double-posting. For any reason. There is a handy-dandy edit button on every post that you make. Use it to your advantage!
- Tag your spoilers. Tag your spoilers. Tag your spoilers. We have a lovely BBC code that you can use for spoilers:
SPOILERHERE
- Consider others when posting. Not everyone has the same opinion as you, experiences as you, or insight as you. Please be respectful of everyone's differences.
- If you want to be rude or narrow-minded, feel free. We will challenge you and cut you down relentlessly, but go right ahead. If your comments escalate to bullying, however, you will be banned with no hesitation.
- Type comprehensibly please. Chatspeak and acronyms are fine in minimal amounts. Don't use them every other word.
- Type as professionally or unprofessionally as you'd like (omitting excessive chatspeak), we are a community so you don't have to talk as you are a teacher in front of a classroom. Feel free to lighten up, let some walls down, and enjoy the similarities between us all in whatever way you choose. I encourage this to be a place of as little judgement as possible!
- Forgive, but do not ignore, people's ignorance. If someone is blind or unaware of something, let them know kindly. Even if they are rude in their ignorance, always attempt to be kind at first. (Then if they continue to be rude, I'm not going to stop you from explaining to them what's up in a little bit less than nice way.) But of course always try to keep your cool and be the better person. (;
Namaste,
Jessi/Arbor
